jamaicanamazon asked: Growing up I never felt comfortable or beautiful in my own skin, I was always reminded that lighter tone women were more desirable, but I say now in my early 20s I LOVE my skin tone, I get compliments on it & everything, so I definitely think that it's becoming more appreciated. I want all my beautiful chocolate girls to not pay attention to what the media & ignorant people have to say about what's beautiful & what's not, cause you are ALL BEAUTIFUL ! :) love the blog :*
Lol I always see your submissions to my blog. You’re so pretty btw. I want more chocolate girls to have a mentality like yours about their skin tone, and get comfortable with themselves. You have a great attitude! And thanks for the love :)

Anonymous asked: hey i saw your comments on bleaching creams. just wondering if you or anyone on here has tried bleaching creams for fading dark marks!? I have tried everything and just not working... I don't want to be light but just want to fade them out -_- lol
Yeah I know people who have a problem with blemishes and dark marks. & I’ve been told that African black soap works really well for that when used consistently.
I use black soap for acne and it’s magical. I mean really, breakouts just start clearing up!
I also hear that a mild-moderate facial peel is good for dark marks too. Depending on how bad the marks are. I actually just bought this from amazon for my dark marks: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000YBV4GY/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i06?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I’m testing the waters and me and you are in the same boat. I have to see if it works ^.^
Anonymous asked: i used to be brown skinned, but i bleached my skin when I was 15 because i thought i was ugly. i regret it and i want my old complexion back. during the summer i try to stay outside but i still look the same. what should i do?
1. COMPLETELY discontinue the use of any bleaching products (if you haven’t already.
2. You can continue the sun exposure but please, please make sure you are wearing some type of good sunscreen or something with a lot of vitamin E before you go outside.
I recommend pure shea butter or cocoa butter because they’re organic w/ vitamin E. You can even buy shea butter or cocoa butter in bar soap form so you can bathe in it! That makes for happy skin.
*Don’t over do the sun exposure b/c you don’t want blotchy, skin in many different colors. Your skin is supposed to go back to its original color by itself, supposing you just stop bleaching and take good care of your skin by exfoliating dead skin and stuff like that.
3. Drink plenty of water and eat well (fruits & veggies). I know that tomatoes are good for your skin.
This is just stuff I know. If possible see a dermatologist.
I’m sorry that you ever felt the need to try bleaching. I would have done it myself had I not realized how glorious brown skin is. I’m sure it was gradual when your skin got lighter, so understand it will be gradual when it goes back to it’s original color.
Stay empowered xoxo
I love when dark skinned women wear black lipstick. I even wear it sometimes. Haters will hate, but I think it’s incredibly bold and kinda says “I’m black, my skin is black, and my lips are black, so the hell what?!”
